Co., Ltd. TBM (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki, hereafter TBM) is the largest cosmetic container molding manufacturer in Indonesia and handles products from major cosmetic manufacturers in Japan and around the world. We are pleased to announce that we have signed an injection molding grade sales contract for “LIMEX Pellet” for cosmetic containers with Maju (Headquarters: Indonesia, President Director: Urip Tjendera, hereafter PT. Kemas).

LIMEX Pellet, which contains more than 50% of inorganic substances such as calcium carbonate, can reduce the amount of petroleum-derived plastics used by up to 37% and reduce CO2 emissions that cause climate change by up to 28% compared to petroleum-derived plastics. can do. * 1 Compared to petroleum, limestone, which is the main raw material of LIMEX, has less price fluctuations, so it can be provided at a stable price, and it is made of ABS resin and polypropylene (PP) used in many cosmetic containers. It can be used as an alternative material. In addition, since the main raw material of LIMEX is limestone, it is possible to realize a high-quality texture and a profound feeling with a matte, and it is planned to be adopted by major cosmetic brands worldwide.
In order to meet the accelerating needs for reducing environmental burdens in the cosmetics industry, LIMEX’s environmental performance and price competitiveness have been evaluated, taking into consideration the quality of major domestic and global cosmetic brands handled by PT. Kemas, and cosmetic containers. We have signed a sales contract for LIMEX Pellet for (compact, cosmetic jar containers, injection molded products such as lips). In the future, we will contribute to solving the environmental problems of the cosmetics industry through the spread of cosmetic containers using LIMEX Pellet.

■ Overview
Environmental issues such as climate change, resource depletion, and water resource crisis are rapidly advancing around the world, and it is inevitable to take measures at the national as well as corporate level. Each country has its own regulations regarding plastics, and 170 countries * 2 around the world, including Japan, prohibit or restrict the use of plastic products. Meanwhile, with population growth and economic growth in emerging economies, the global plastic resin market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.5% from 2020 to 2027, reaching $ 522.5 billion by 2027 *. 3. It is said that 12 billion (units) of cosmetic containers are discarded annually around the world, and most of them are not recycled * 4. In order to change this situation, the cosmetics industry is taking various measures such as recycling cosmetic containers, using recycled materials, and proposing refill packages.
LIMEX Pellet’s injection molding grade can be molded with existing equipment around the world * 5, leading to a reduction in plastic usage and CO2 emissions compared to petroleum-derived plastics. In addition, limestone, which is the main raw material, has better supply stability than petroleum and has less price fluctuations (volatility), so it can be provided at a stable price.

is
a composite material of inorganic filler dispersion that contains 50% or more of inorganic substances such as calcium carbonate. It has been patented in more than 40 countries around the world, and has been introduced at COP and G20 international conferences. It is also registered as an excellent technology in Japan on the Sustainable Technology Dissemination Platform of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization). It is possible to contribute to the conservation of resources with high risk of depletion, such as oil, water and forest resources used when manufacturing alternative products for plastics and paper.

  • LIMEX is an inorganic / organic composite material (JSA-S1008) whose main component is an inorganic component, subject to JSA standards

Characteristics of LIMEX It is a resource that is abundant in Japan.
-Since limestone can reduce CO2 emissions by about 58% when incinerating the same volume as general plastic (PP), the amount of petroleum-derived plastic used can be reduced by using limestone as the main raw material for plastic alternative materials (” Reduce), CO2 emissions during incineration can be reduced.
-Using a scientific analysis method called life cycle assessment (LCA), we calculate the environmental impact of the life cycle from procurement of raw materials for products to production, distribution, use, and disposal, and utilize it for material development.
